Ward 4 is home to many diverse neighborhoods.
The backbone of the community are the many stable families, some with roots going back generations in the communities. It is also home to many new arrivals, attracted by the moderate home prices, neighborhood values, and the spirit of opportunity.
However trends and events have combined to shape an uncertain future for many residents of the Ward. As citizens we must take an active role to revitalize those areas of Ward 4 which are in need of improvement. I pledge to work to preserve and enhance the stability and beauty of our treasures, both natural and historic, to promote a nurturing environment for future generations of scholars, entrepreneurs, artists and atheletes from all neighborhoods of the Ward.
We must protect our vulnerable citizens, our children and our seniors. We must show compassion for those among us who have faced misfortune or hardship and we must have the strength and the courage to reach out and lift up. Let us make the neighborhoods of Ward 4 into an appealing setting for realizing our dreams; for ourselves and for our families. Through sound policy, energetic advocacy and judiciuos implementation, we can reawaken Ward 4 as a dynamic community where public spirit inspires positive action.
